These are the 2018 winners of the Capilano University Award of Excellence

This year, Capilano University (CapU) is celebrating a major milestone with its 50th anniversary.

On Thursday, October 18 CapU and Capilano University Alumni Association (CUAA) will be hosting a special evening anniversary edition of the Alumni Awards of Excellence at The Pipe Shop in North Vancouver.

This year’s award categories have been designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary year and represent a departure from the standard awards format. This allows CapU and CUAA to nominate and recognize alumni who embody the essence of who they are and the impact of CapU locally, regionally, and around the world.

In previous years, threads of the community’s values — spirit, passion, innovation, collaboration, pride, and impact — have been woven through each of CapU’s award categories.

Now CapU is proud to announce its 2018 award recipients, all of whom embody their brand essences:

• Amina El Mantari, Unified category
• Danette (Petie) Chalifoux, Enduring category
• Kaya Dorey, Confident category
• Randy Celebrini, Creative category
