The Northwest Fan Fest went off without a hitch in the heart of New Westminster this past weekend. Many people either used their super powers, magic or just transit to make their way over to the swanky new Anvil Convention Centre.
The event was like the Vancouver Fan Expo but on a smaller scale. Whether it was informative panels, video game tournaments, live podcasts or Spike and Mike’s Festival of Animation, there was something for every nerd inside of us.
When you weren’t walking around looking at vendors or art work, there were many people dressed up in Cosplay (costume play). In fact if you weren’t dressed up, it was you that actually stood out. This year Northwest Fan Fest were giving out prizes to kids who dressed up as their favourite character. There is nothing cuter than a pint-size Darth Vader.
