2014 North American Parkour Championships to be held in Vancouver

Dec 19 2017, 6:35 pm

See what high-level parkour looks like without camera cuts, fast-motion editing, wires or stunt pads. This is as real as it gets.

Full-time parkour athletes continue to push the discipline and are demonstrating a level of skill, power and creativity that gets more exciting every year. Next weekend, the cream of the crop will be coming to Vancouver to compete in the largest grassroots parkour competition in North America.  There hasn’t been a bigger parkour event since last year’s sold out competition, and this time, it’ll be even bigger.

On Sunday, May 18 at 5 p.m., elite contenders will be competing in timed speed courses, record-breaking skill challenges and a 2-on-2 freestyle battle tournament. The best of Vancouver will be taking on athletes from Quebec, California, Colorado, Texas, Mexico and beyond for glory, recognition and cash prizes.

If you want to snap a photo with a world-class athlete, the meet-and-greet fan expo will be taking place 2 to 6 p.m. the day before the competition on Saturday, May 17. Grab an autograph, get a team t-shirt and talk to the coolest people in parkour!

Origins Parkour & Athletic Facility, located on the 3rd floor of 2655 Main St., will once again host this year’s NAPC event. Tickets are available now at the gym and online. Space is limited. $20 for the main event competition on Sunday (Doors open at 4 p.m.) $10 for the fan expo. $25 to attend both days.
