Two lost hikers rescued from Grouse Mountain

Dec 19 2017, 8:42 pm

Two hikers have been rescued from the Dam Mountain area of Grouse Mountain late this afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m., the hikers were retrieved by three North Shore Rescue members from a trail at an elevation of 1,200 metres. They became stranded earlier in the day due to lack lack of equipment and poor environmental conditions: Heavy snowfall has reduced visibility and made he trails difficult to access.

Rescuers brought extra clothing and pairs of snowshoes for both hikers. Mountain patrollers with Grouse Mountain Resort were also involved in the rescue operation.
