17-year-old female arrested for SkyTrain stabbing

Transit Police has arrested a 17-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing a young man at SkyTrain’s Nanaimo Station at 11 p.m. Saturday night.

Two young females got into a fight with three young males onboard an Expo Line westbound train. Transit Police and SkyTrain staff were dispatched to the stopped train at Nanaimo Station after the emergency button was pressed by a passenger.

The injured male has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The female who carried the knife and stabbed the male is in police custody and will face charges of assault. She is known to police.
