With event season in full swing stick around the Fraser Valley this month and enjoy everything from home shows to flower festivals. Here are 15 great ways to explore the Fraser Valley this April.

Abbotsford

Fraser Valley Food Show 2016

Admission to the 8th annual Fraser Valley Food Show includes access to events such as the celebrity cooking stage, wine, beer, and spirits tasting pavilion (adults only), the spring craft market, and the Great Canadian Sausage Making Competition.

When: April 1, 12 to 9 p.m., April 2, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., April 3, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bradner Flower Show

Jazz up your garden at the 88th annual Bradner Flower Show. With hundreds of daffodils on display, arts, crafts, music, as well as local chefs, wineries, and gardening experts on hand there are activities for gardeners, green thumbs, and everyone in between.

B.C. Gem Show

The 58th annual B.C. Gem Show features club displays, demonstrations, grab bags, children’s creative workshops, gold panning, and door prizes. Back by popular demand is the second-annual rock lovers round up tailgate sale – Saturday, April 9 only.

When: April 8, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., April 9, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., April 10, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Chilliwack

Chilliwack Yard, Garden, and Renovation Show

The 14th annual Yard, Garden, and Renovation Show is the place to find everything home owners need to create or improve their outdoor living space. This year’s show features free parking, a family fun zone, and 30,000 square feet of exhibits.

When: April 1, 3 to 9 p.m., April 2, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., April 3, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Third Annual Spring Market

Featuring more than 90 vendors, this year’s spring market is a one-stop shop for all things spring. Pancake breakfast from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and tons of raffle prizes throughout the day.

Chilliwack International Film Series

The Chilliwack International Film Series continues throughout April. Featured films are Rams, The Lady in the Van, My Internship in Canada, and Youth.

KPU Brewing Lab Tour and Info Session

Are you passionate about craft beer? Learn more about BC’s only Brewing and Brewery Operations Diploma at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Meet some of KPU Brewing’s faculty as well as current students. Pre-registration is required.

Fibres by the Fraser

View an exhibit featuring fibre artwork created by members of the Mission Weavers and Spinners Guild, celebrating 20 years in the community.
