12 things to do in Vancouver this weekend

Vancouver doesn’t know if it’s winter or spring. Maybe you’ll be able to decide with a few of these events happening in Vancouver this weekend.

Saturday

Dr. Dog

  • What: American rock band Dr. Dog come to Venue Nightclub, after releasing a live album at the top of 2015. Also getting ready for the live stage production of their legendary 1999 album, The Psychedelic Swamp, in theatrical form, Dr. Dog are back on the road after a busy year.

Yamato Drummers

  • What: The Vancouver debut of the beloved Japanese drumming troupe, the Yamato Drummers come to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre tonight. It’s an ancient art with a modern spin.

  • When: Saturday, February 6; 8 p.m.

Canucks vs. Flames

  • What: The Vancouver Canucks face off against the Calgary Flames. Nothing like the good old hockey game.

Snowed In Comedy Tour

  • What: The cross country tour from some of Canada’s best comedians,Dan Quinn, Paul Myrehaug, Pete Zedlacher, and Craig Campbell.

  • When: Saturday, February 6; 7 p.m.

Sunday

MEC Vancouver Race ONE

  • What: A 5K and 10K run starting in Devonian Harbour Park, along the beautiful Stanley Park seawall in the Downtown West End. Get the rust off and run!

Food Truck February

  • What: Some of the best food trucks in Metro Vancouver will be on site at both Nat Bailey Park and the PNE Forum for Food Truck February. This year the truck’s are challenged to reduce their waste and create an item that fits in a reusable jar.

Snowshoe Grind Mountain Run

  • What: Find running too easy? How about a jog in snowshoes through knee deep snow? The Snowshoe Grind Mountain Run at Grouse Mountain happens today. Registration fees include a spectator ticket, a post-race celebration, entry for prizes, and more.

Human Library

  • What: Borrow a book, discover a life. This annual event sees “human books” for loan, sitting down with borrowers to discuss their life, their journey, and their lessons.

Bunny Yoga

  • What: The concept is pretty simple: yoga, but with bunnies. Relax with some guided yoga, while rabbits from Vancouver Rabbit Rescur and Advocacy hop around you. Maybe you’ll even find a new friend.

Charlotte Diamond

  • What: Beloved children’s musician Charlotte Diamond comes to the Massey Theatre. Get the kids out for a live performance anyone can enjoy.
