12 Days of Giving - Fill the East Van Truck for the Food Bank!

DH Vancouver Staff Dec 16, 2011 9:26 am

ʻWelcome to Eastvanʼ has been a fixture in the DTES community since 2006. Rob Geary and Luis Galvan developed the brand to help inspire the community to embrace, develop and evolve its identity. The boys live and work in the DTES and are surrounded by folks that need assistance, particularly around the holidays. Rob and Luis wanted to do something big to help the community this year and decided to give as much as they could to the Vancouver Food Bank.

So theyʼre doing what anyone would do, living in their cube moving truck (at the corner of Water and Cambie) until the good people of Vancouver fill it with non-perishable food. Theyʼll set up shop on December 12 and they wonʼt go home until the VAN IS FULL! That’s right they won’t be going home until it’s full, so I urge you the good people of Vancouver to head on over there and donate!

Most needed items:
• Canned meat/fish
• Peanut butter
• Bags of whole wheat pasta/rice
• Pasta sauce
• Canned fruit/vegetables
• Cereal
• Baby formula
• Baby food

Please note, we are not able to accept the following items:
• Homemade items
• Expired baby food
• Products containing alcohol
• Open packages of food

Head on over to  to Water and Cambie (in Gastown) with your food donations and help Rob and Luis get home to their families as quickly as possible. Just look for the Welcome to Eastvan moving truck!
