A few days ago, we revealed to you Vancity Buzz 2.0 with a new layout, design and a burning motivation to become a comprehensive and informative site that would be of greater value to our readers and community. We like to think of VcB as the People’s Blog, and while there is a small team driving the site upward and onwards, it is you the readers that give us the octane to type every keystroke and to hit publish, RT and send on all the posts, emails and tweets. This re-launch was done with you in mind.
The new layout will help you navigate our site with a more streamlined and organized design. Please bear with us through our growing pains as we work on fixing small glitches and make tweaks here and there. If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see on the site, drop us a comment below. Otherwise, enjoy the new look. We’ve grown out of our awkward, adolescent years – bucktoothed, acned and all – and now we’re older, smarter and a whole lot sexier.
In the meanwhile, we thought long and hard on how to show appreciation to our ever-growing reader base and conceived the biggest, baddest giveaway series the site has ever seen: The 12 Days of Giveaways.
The 12 Days of Giveaways will feature 12 daily contests with a great new prize each day (excluding weekends)for a total retail value of $3,000 in giveaways. The contest format will vary (duration, RTs, comments, or other) so it’s important to read each post and to enter correctly. We will kick off on November 29th (Monday) and continue until December 14th (Tuesday). And the prizes…oh the prizes. You’ll have to wait for the specifics but let me tell you there is something for everyone. Here are some clues to what you can expect:
* We will blo you away with the prizes that lead you all over British Columbia. Some Amaz-ing prizes will take you online. Some will take you to our Metropolis while others will lead you to more exotic areas such as the Pacific , to new mountain heights or even in London! You might even be transported to the Future. And if you get lost, we’ll try our Best to find your way home. All iKnow is that you need to enter to win, and the Lu-ckiest of our readers will left Smiling.
