10,000 Fans at Deer Lake Park for Feist Fest

Over 10,000 fans enjoyed the sights and sounds of Miss Leslie Feist last night at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby. At the end she left everyone wanting more.

As the Weakerthans finished their opening set, the crowd was anxiously awaiting for Feist. By that time I was already on my 5th beer enjoying the beautiful day. Once Feist started, she never looked back and continued her set, as the sunset provided the perfect backdrop for concert goers.

Deer Lake park is a great concert venue acoustically and its setting is second to none (until the city builds that waterfront stadium). Burnaby should do more to get concerts during the summer. This being my first time seeing her in concert I was extremely amazed. She may possibly be the greatest Canadian musician at this moment.

Highlight of the night was definitely “1, 2, 3, 4” as the crowd sang along. Other stand out tracks included “My Moon, My Man”, “Mushaboom” and “I Feel it all”.

Grade: B+

Note: Money J Skeets was spotted selling Snowman T-shirts out the back of his Van. He soon realized the hip-hop crowd was not prevalent at this concert. Dumb ass.

The Suburban Don was also at the show in his signature bathrobe, cigar in hand. Naturally the women ran away as far as possible from him. Creepy.
