$1.8 million private island for sale in Gulf Islands

For those searching for some peace and tranquility, and a whole lot of privacy, a beautiful private island in the Gulf Islands just went up for sale for a cool $1.8 million.

Seven-acre Sheep Island lies just east of the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal and sits next door to larger Domville Island and Brethour Island. But its proximity to civilization is only a part of the package; the island also comes with a house, deep-water moorage and 120 feet of dock.

Meanwhile in Vancouver, $1.8 million may buy you a one-storey rancher on a small lot in North Vancouver.

“This beautifully diverse 7 acre private island offers varied topographical & vegetation meander throughout the island & the old growth forest. There is an expansive garden area, an orchard & ponds for water retention,” the island’s listing on realtor.ca says.

Residents would need a boat or float plane to get back and forth from the island, but that is all just part of the lifestyle. As expected, the scenery and views are stunning.

Would you move to a private island?
