A Canadian real estate website is making it easier for you to search for homes within specific school boundaries.

Zoocasa.com announced its new tool that includes elementary and secondary school district in Ontario for public and Catholic boards.

“Finding a home in a great school district is a major factor the majority of home searches, but it’s currently cumbersome for the average buyer to try and connect the dots between the school’s ranking, its boundary, and available listings in that particular area to make the best purchase choice,” said Lauren Haw, CEO of Zoocasa in a press release. “We’ve put that information in one easy-to-use place, integrated directly into our listings map.”

The website’s new school search function includes 3,825 elementary schools, 912 secondary schools, and 83 school boards across Ontario. Zoocasa also includes the average ranking for school boards, a “social cap” icon that reveals boundaries, and individual school information such as contact listings.

“Homes across the street from each other may be in different catchment areas,” said Haw. “Understanding where your home is within a certain boundary can help with long-term transition planning and reduce unnecessary moves. Not to mention wealth accumulation – school rankings are highly correlated to real estate prices.”

According to Zoocasa’s 2017 Housing Sentiments and Trends Report, 39% of Canadians cite schools or school districts as an important factor for a future home purchase.

And this just makes it all much easier to accomplish.
