There's a huge holiday job fair at Yorkdale Shopping Centre this week

There are over 200 positions that need to be filled at Yorkdale Shopping Centre for the upcoming holiday season, and an employment event is taking place this Thursday, September 12 to help fill the jobs.

George Okurapa, Manager Community and Labour Market, City of Toronto and Yorkdale Marketing Director Mina Barbuto will greet participants and launch the employment event as part of the city’s commitment to connect employers and job seekers.

Among the retailers participating in this employment event are new retailers and restaurants such as Nordstrom, Roots, Sephora, Canada Goose Tora Aburi, KitKat and by Chloe. Yorkdale’s Guest Services is also looking to fill positions.

The employment event is part of an ongoing partnership between Yorkdale and the City of Toronto that has helped fill more than 1,500 retail positions since it launched in 2012. Through this partnership, the City of Toronto and Community Agencies identify and match qualified candidates to available opportunities. The candidates are coached and provided with resumé and interview support prior to the recruitment event.
