Environment Canada issues Winter Weather Travel Advisory for Toronto

Dec 31 2019, 2:11 pm

It’s the last day of the decade, and a Winter Weather Travel Advisory is in effect for the morning and early afternoon.

According to Environment Canada, snow is affecting much of southwestern Ontario this morning and continues to advance eastward. As the weather system moves, brief bursts of heavier snow with very poor visibility are anticipated.

Accumulations should be limited to a few centimetres at most, Environment Canada says.

Strong wind gusts of up to 70 km/h are also anticipated. These gusts, combined with heavy snow and strong winds, are expected to result in reduced visibility.

As such, drivers should take extra care while travelling throughout the day.
