The coolest waterfront patios to visit in Toronto this summer

Jul 20 2020, 11:25 am

Restaurants across Toronto are finally reopening, and these waterfront patios — made for liquid lunchin’, if you ask us — are calling your name.

Outdoor seating with a view of the lake is somewhat scarce in the city, which makes these spots all the more special. In high demand on hot days, these patios are the places to be to soak up the sun while the lake breeze keeps you cool.

Here’s where to live large, lakeside, this summer in Toronto:

Against the Grain

At Corus Quay (aka Sugar Beach), this pubby patio offers a serene escape on the waterfront. Rotating taps pouring craft brews and a menu featuring salads, brick oven pizzas, and burgers are all easy to like. Now, it’s reopening with 50% capacity.

Bottle service and bikinis are the big draws at this poolside patio. This place, known to be in perpetual party mode and fuelled by top-shelf spirits and spiked slushies, officially reopens on Thursday with menu offerings from Oliver & Bonacini. It might be a little different from what you’re used to — a bit less crowded, perhaps.
