Toronto's annual Veg Spring Market returns digitally April 3 to 5

Apr 1 2020, 6:24 pm

You may be practicing physical distancing, but that doesn’t mean that learning about new plant-forward recipes and supporting local purveyors has to stop.

Toronto’s annual Veg Spring Market is returning this weekend, but differently.

The event is coming to a screen near you from April 3 to 5, taking over Facebook LIVE and IGTV on Instagram.

This first-ever online market from the Toronto Vegetarian Association will feature more than 18 local businesses, as well as free online vegan cooking demos and workshops throughout the weekend.

Free workshops you can look forward over to from the 3rd to the 5th include:

  • Healthy periods on a plant-based diet with Dr. Anne Hussain, ND — Friday, April 3 at
    7 pm
  • Chocolate covered cake pops with Sigourney Bailey — Saturday, April 4 at 2 pm
  • Plant Based Running: From 0 to 50k and In Between — Sunday, April 5 at 2 pm

ā€œWe are reimagining our annual Veg Spring Market as an online event during a time where
people are staying at home and practicing physical distancing,ā€ said Lainey Oleka, Festival
and Events Coordinator at the Toronto Vegetarian Association in a release.
