Vancouver experiencing summer conditions while Toronto in polar vortex
While Canada’s west coast is currently basking in the sunshine and warm temperatures with more on the way this weekend, it’s fair to say that this isn’t the case across the country.
In fact, one can look to Toronto to see what can only be described as a stark contrast in the weather situation.
Yesterday, the Weather Network forecasted that a “polar vortex” would be making its way to Ontario this weekend, with the coldest air “relative to normal around the globe set to swirl across Ontario by Friday.”
The week’s forecast shows wet flurries today, with a high of 5°C, but may feel more like 2°C. The evening temperature will dip to -2°C.
By Saturday, more flurries are expected, and it will feel like 0°C.

Meanwhile, Metro Vancouver’s weekend forecast could bring some of the highest temperatures seen all season.
According to Environment Canada, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday call for sunshine and clear skies.

The weather agency says Friday and Saturday will reach 22°C, with temperatures as high as 27°C and 28°C inland, respectively.
Sunday will be slightly warmer, with a posted temperature of 24°C and 29°C inland.
So, depending on where you live, this will be a great weekend to bring out the sunglasses, or the snow gear.
