All the Uniqlo stores reopening in Toronto

Jun 25 2020, 9:11 pm

Uniqlo is set to reopen several of its Toronto locations this weekend.

Stores were temporarily closed in mid-March to further prevent the spread of COVID-19. The Japanese clothing retailer says that they are “reopening with enhanced protocols that alight with local guidelines” in the province.

The following locations will open on Friday, June 26 with adjusted hours:

  • Yorkdale Shopping Centre:
    • Monday to Sunday from 11 am t0 7 pm
  • CF Toronto Eaton Centre
    • Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm
    • Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm
  • Square One Shopping Centre
    • Monday to Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm
  • First Canadian Place
    • Monday to Friday from 11 am to 5 pm
    • Closed on Saturday and Sunday

As with many other retailers that are reopening, a number of health and safety measures are being implemented. Store capacity within Uniqlo retailers is being reduced to allow for optimal physical distancing. If a store is at capacity, customers will be required to line up outside.

Prior to entering, customers will also need to have their temperature checked. The same measure will apply to staff, who will take daily temperature checks and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during shifts. Hand sanitization stations are also being placed at the entrance of the store and at cash registers.

Inside the retailers, acrylic barriers are being installed at checkout counters and frequent cleaning is being done in high-traffic areas, such as where cash is handled and where shopping baskets are placed. The use of credit and debit card or other contactless payment methods is recommended at checkout. Self-packing will also be encouraged, especially if shoppers bring their own bags.

At this point in time, fitting rooms will remain closed to the public. In-store returns will be permitted, although the clothing will be held for 48 hours before becoming available for purchase again. Uniqlo’s clothing donation program has also been closed until further notice.
