Uber introduces flat rate for rush hour commute in Toronto

It’s a big week for Uber in Toronto.

After yesterday’s announcement legalizing the transportation app, Uber has introduced a flat fare for uberPOOL riders.

Commuters using uberPOOL between 7 – 10 am and 4 – 9 pm in the city of Toronto will play a $6 flat fare. The fare is only valid within the parameters below, bordering Woodbine Avenue to the east, Royal York Road to the west, and just north of Lawrence Avenue.

The more frequently commuters use uberPOOL, the longer we can keep the $6 price in place, according to Uber. For those unfamiliar with uberPOOL, the service allows you to share the Uber ride with others going in the same direction at the same time.

Commuters just need to select “uberPOOL” when requesting a vehicle between the specified hours, and within the region above, and the flat fare will be charged.
