Two Toronto Maple Leafs players go undercover in new Tim Hortons ad

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz and forward Steven Lorentz surprised some fans at a Tim Hortons stand.

In a partnership with the famous Canadian restaurant chain, Stolarz and Lorentz went undercover to give out hockey cards to fans in the area. Stolarz, who went by “Antonio,” and Lorentz, who went by “Steven,” attempted to hide their identities off the hop, but it didn’t take fans long to figure out who they were.

“Are you the goalie? Stolarz?” one fan asked upon approaching the duo. “Can I get a picture with you?”

What made the moment much funnier was that Lorentz went unrecognized by the man asking for the picture and even attempted to duck out of the way.

“Is this the Tim Hortons guy? You’re not allowed to duck down,” the fan said while Stolarz was dying with laughter. “You’re part of the show here.”

Stolarz eventually went on to tell the fan that Lorentz is, in fact, a Maple Leafs player as well, prompting the fan to get a picture with both.

In defence of the fan, Lorentz, who is set to enter his second season with the Leafs, had a wig in his attempted disguise. The 29-year-old played a bottom-six role in 2024-25, scoring eight goals and 19 points in 80 games, while chipping in with two assists in the postseason.

As for Stolarz, he’s expected to play a big role for the Leafs this season, especially given Joseph Woll’s personal leave from the team. The 31-year-old was incredible when healthy in 2024-25, posting a 2.14 GAA along with a .926 SV% in 34 appearances. The strong season helped him earn a four-year, $15 million deal this summer.

The Maple Leafs, who are projected by oddsmakers to finish third in the Western Conference, are set to kick off their regular season on Wednesday night in a home tilt versus the Montreal Canadiens.
