Another TTC employee has tested positive for COVID-19, this time, a Wheel-Trans operator, the transit system announced on Friday.

He is the third TTC employee to be diagnosed with coronavirus.

The operator has a travel history, the TTC says, and was last at work on March 12. He reportedly began showing symptoms on March 17, meaning and began he did not work in the 48 hours prior to being symptomatic.

He is currently resting at home, the TTC says.

Toronto Public Health has reportedly determined there is no increased risk of exposure to other employees or customers. Employee representatives on the Joint Health and Safety Committee and ATU Local 113 have also been consulted.

The TTC learned of the first employee who tested positive for the illness — someone who doesn’t work frontline service maintenance — on March 18.

A second case — the first TTC operator to be diagnosed — was confirmed on March 25.
