Portions of TTC's Line 1 subway service will end early next week

Subway service on portions of the TTC’s Line 1 will end early for most of next week due to tunnel and ATC signal upgrades.

From February 22 to February 25, subway service Line 1 between Finch and Eglinton stations will end early starting at 11 pm, according to the transit commission.

Shuttle buses will be running and stopping at each station along the route, with TTC staff readily available to help customers at boarding and offloading locations.

“In addition to the shuttles, the 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 will be available as alternatives during the closure,” said the TTC.

North York Centre Station will be closed; however, all other stations will stay open for PRESTO sales and access to surface routes and Line 4.

According to the TTC, at Sheppard-Yonge Station, the automatic entrances and exits at Yonge Street and Poyntz Avenue, and Yonge Street and Anndale Drive, will be closed.

At York Mills Station, the Old York Mills Road entrance and exit will be closed. The automatic entrances and exits at Ranleigh Avenue and Bedford Park Avenue at Lawrence Station will also be closed.

“Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance,” said the transit commission.

“While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state of good repair work as well as ATC signal upgrades.”
