Several TTC subway stations on a portion of Line 1 and 2 will have service disruptions and closures this Sunday, as well as early closures next week.
On Sunday, October 11, subway service on Line 2 will start at 12 pm, between St George and Broadview stations in order to accommodate a beam replacement on the Prince Edward (Bloor) Viaduct.
At that time, Bay and Sherbourne stations will be closed while all other stations remain open for PRESTO sales and fare.
Riders will be able to connect to surface routes and Line 1; however, shuttle buses will be available.
Next week closures
From October 13 to 15, subway service on Line 1 from Sheppard-Yonge and Eglinton stations will end early for tunnel and signal upgrades at 11 pm.
Shuttle buses will be running and stopping at each station on the affected route, with staff available to help customers on and off the buses.
The 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 will also serve as alternatives during this closure.
All stations will remain open for PRESTO fare sales and access to buses and streetcars, as well as Line 4.
At York Mills Station, the Old York Mills Road entrance and exit will be closed and at Lawrence Station, the automatic entrances and exits at Ranleigh Avenue and Bedford Park Avenue, will also be closed.
Those who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for help.
“While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state of good repair work as well as ATC signal upgrades,” said the transit commission.
