Portions of the TTC are closing early some nights this week
If you’re going to be travelling through the downtown core on Wednesday or Thursday night, you’ll want to plan ahead.
Because on April 24 and 25, the portion of Line 1 between Bloor-Yonge and St Andrew stations will close at 11 pm. Shuttle buses will be running, and will frequently stop outside each affected station.
Wheel-Trans will provide service to customers requiring accessible connections.
Wellesley Station will be completely closing at 11 pm, but all other stations will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes.
Line 1 Yonge University: This Wed. and Thurs., subway service between Bloor and St Andrew stations will end at 11 p.m. for ATC signal upgrades. Shuttle buses will run.

These closures will enable the TTC to continue modernization of its Automatic Train Control (ATC) signalling system which, when fully installed on Line 1, will improve capacity on the line.
ATC is currently installed on 40% of Line 1: the portion between Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and Dupont stations. It’s due to extend to St Patrick Station this spring.
While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete this system overhaul.
