Several TTC subway stations will close this weekend

There will be no subway service on portions of the TTC’s Line 1 this weekend in order to allow Metrolinx crews to work on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

From Saturday, November 28 to Sunday, November 29, there will be no subway service on Line 1 from Lawrence and St Clair stations.

Shuttle buses will be running and stopping along Yonge Street with TTC staff helping customers with boarding and offloading locations.

“In addition to the shuttles, the 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 will be available as alternatives during the closure,” said the TTC.

Despite the subway closures, all stations will stay open for PRESTO sales and access to any surface routes.

“While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state of good repair work as well as ATC signal upgrades.” said the transit commission.
