Transit riders might want to plan ahead.

The TTC will be closing off some parts of Line 1 subway service this weekend for signal upgrades.

Starting Saturday, August 8, stations between St Clair and Union will be closed, according to the TTC.

“While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and ATC upgrades,” the transit commission said.

Summerhill station will be closed and shuttle buses will be available for those needing service along the route.

On August 9, Line 1 from Bloor-Yonge to St Andrew station will also be closed for subway service.

Wellesley, College, and King Stations will be closed for both Saturday and Sunday as upgrades are being done.

All of the other stations will be open for TTC fare and PRESTO reloads, as well as bus and streetcar routes.

TTC staff will be ready to help customers with boarding the shuttle bus at each location.

The 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 will be running as usual.
