Portion of the TTC's Line 1 subway will close early next week

A section of the TTC’s Line 1 subway will be closing early next week due to tunnel remediation.

From March 29 through to April 1, subway service between Finch Station and Sheppard-Yonge Station will end at 11 pm each night as crews work on the tunnel.

Replacement shuttle busses will run throughout the closure, and TTC staff will be available to direct customers to boarding and offloading locations.

The University portion of Line 1 and the 97 Yonge bus will both be available as transit alternatives.

North York Centre Station will be closed, but all other stations will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes and Line 4.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service are advised to speak with a TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

“While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state of good repair work as well as ATC signal upgrades,” the transit commission said.
