TTC closure on Line 1 this weekend: December 9-10

Dec 7 2017, 9:20 pm

There’s a TTC closure on Line 1 this weekend.

On December 9-10, TTC crews will continue work to replace special track and switches just south of Eglinton Station, requiring the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between St Clair and Lawrence stations to close.

Completion of this work, and some additional necessary repairs, will allow the TTC to lift the current speed restriction in the area that has slowed trains for the last several weeks by the end of December.

During the closure, shuttle buses will operate, stopping only at subway stations along the way.

The TTC encourages customers to use the University and Spadina portion of Line 1 if traveling in and out of the downtown core this weekend.

Regular subway service resumes Monday, December 11 at 6 am.

The good news is, this is the last scheduled closure of 2017.
