The simple task of doing grocery shopping has taken on a whole other level of importance as we continue to spend more time cooking and recreating restaurant experiences at home.

For that reason, we’re often looking for specialty items and ingredients to add bursts of flavour to our meals. In Toronto, T&T Supermarket is always an easy choice for these products, whether fresh or frozen.

The Asian grocery chain recently launched a brand new app, meaning everything you need from your local T&T store is now just a tap away. Shoppers have ample options with over 10,000 products listed on the online store — including 250 food and household T&T brand products.

“As the pandemic drags on, people are getting bored of their own cooking and looking for something different,” Tina Lee, CEO of T&T Supermarket, told Canadian Grocer. “They want to have more fun with their cooking and T&T online is a good place to explore new ingredients.”

In 1993, T&T was brought to life in Vancouver by duo Cindy and Jack Lee. Then, in 2009, it was bought over by Loblaw Companies Ltd. When Cindy Lee retired in 2014, she passed the torch to her daughter, the current CEO, Tina Lee. Fast-forward to 2021, and T&T operates 27 locations across Ontario, Alberta, and BC.

With the new T&T app, customers can stay in the know about the latest savings and deals, new product launches, and weekly specials flyers. It’s as easy as turning the in-app notifications on and seeing the promotions pop up on your smartphone. Plus, T&T will automatically add the online coupons to your account.

“It [the app] will also offer a variety of payment options such as WeChat Pay and Alipay and real-time online chat services to ensure the smoothest online shopping experience,” said Jennifer Mei, Director of E-Commerce at T&T, in an interview with Canadian Grocer.

As the largest Asian supermarket chain in Canada, T&T is renowned for stocking fresh and frozen products that help shoppers get the most out of their Asian food adventures.

The supermarket chain is now the first national grocer to deliver seasonal live seafood to your doorstep, with options including mussels, crab, clams, and lobster for all your culinary creation needs.

Since T&T offers express delivery, you can place an order and have it arrive at your home the very next day. The shipping fee to do this costs $7.99 (no charge with overweight) when you spend over $99.

For delicious Asian snacks and baked goods, T&T is a go-to destination. Through the new app, customers can order freshly baked birthday cakes made with fruits and a light chiffon base — for themselves or gift them to loved ones from afar with a heartwarming note.

You can also send Asian beauty gifts, fruit baskets, Japanese snacks, and much more to any address across the country using the app.

Alternatively, if you’d prefer to pick up a gift or groceries at your local T&T, choose the click and collect option in the app to skip the line and ultimately save precious minutes in your day.

Shopping via the T&T app is rewarding, thanks to the supermarket chain’s rewards program. Every time you make a purchase of $20, you’ll collect 20 points.

And when you visit your local T&T store in the future, you can collect points at the cash register by scanning the in-app barcode. In the same way, you can redeem items in-store through the app’s redemption feature. When you have the app, you can basically leave the plastic rewards card at home and lighten the load on your wallet.

So, if you’re curious to discover even more possibilities for grocery shopping and gift-giving in Toronto, download the T&T app on the App Store or Google Play.

Pro tip: Shoppers can get $5 off their first online purchase made through the app.
