One man has died of his injuries following a triple shooting on Highway 400 in North York.

Const. Alex Li with Toronto police told Daily Hive in a phone interview that the shooting happened in the southbound lanes somewhere between Steeles Avenue and Finch Avenue West.

The victims somehow made it from the highway to a gas station near Weston Road and Jayzel Drive. That’s where first responders found the three men suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were taken to hospital, where one of them later died of his injuries. The two other victims also have serious injuries, according to police.

Once officers realized the shooting took place on the highway, they contacted the Ontario Provincial Police to have Highway 400 closed down for the investigation. Eventually, police found shell casings on the roadway

Homicide investigators are now looking into what happened. Police have not said who the suspect or suspects might be.
