December is time for family, friends, and warm fuzzy feelings all around. And a recent video of a hospital wedding in the GTA is sure to set off all those loving emotions.

Shared by the Trillium Health Partners Foundation, the video shows Sasha and Shushma in thier Mississauga hospital room.

“I’ve been here 17 months, this is my home,” Shushma said.

And in July, the couple found out that Shushma wasn’t doing very well. In fact, a doctor gave her just a year to live.

“Instead of being sad, we decided to kick off our bucket-list,” said Sasha. And when a nurse put forward the idea of getting married, the couple decided to have a hospital wedding to share their love despite the news.

The Trillium Health Partners said that when one of their nurses found out that a patient wanted to get married, the hospital and community came together to put on an unforgettable wedding.

“The day was made possible by the generosity of local businesses, community donors, staff, volunteers, family and friends. We are honoured as an organization to be able to share in these special moments,” said the hospital.
