The Toronto Zoo gave its animals presents this year (VIDEOS)
This might be the cutest thing ever.
The 12 Days of Enrichment program is in full-swing at the Toronto Zoo, which means a bunch of furry friends are opening literal presents on the daily.
And it’s glorious to behold.
The Zoo’s website explains that the Behavioural Husbandry Program, which is behind the gift-giving, is designed to provide enrichment and training experiences that mimic an animal’s natural behaviour and provide mental stimulation within their environments.
Experiences can include puzzle feeders, novel substrates, and unique scents which encourage the animals to exhibit natural behaviours.
The results? Well, one is an overall benefit to animal health and welfare.
And another is the adorableness that you can peek at below.
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Enrichment Giving Tree! Thanks to you, over $3,000 was raised to provide our animals with special enrichment items this Christmas. Take a peek at some of them opening their gifts 🙊 🎁 #MerryChristmas pic.twitter.com/eAkRJ20qqI
