There are over 300 positions that need to be filled at Yorkdale Shopping Centre for the upcoming holiday season, and an employment event is taking place this Thursday, September 27 to help fill the jobs.

George Okurapa, Manager Community and Labour Market, City of Toronto and Yorkdale Marketing Director Mina Barbuto will greet participants and launch the employment event as part of the city’s commitment to connect employers and job seekers.

Retailers at the hiring event, which include Woolrich, Tiffany & Co and Ladurée, are looking to fill part-time and full-time permanent and seasonal positions.

Candidates should arrive professionally dressed with hard copies of their resumés. The first portion of the event is allotted for pre-screened candidates from the City’s Toronto Employment & Social Services (TESS), with the event opening to the public at 12 pm.

The hiring fair will take place near Restoration Hardware and near Village Juicery on the west end of the shopping centre.

The employment event is part of an ongoing partnership between Yorkdale and the City of Toronto that has helped fill more than 1,500 retail positions since it launched in 2012.
