This is what opening day of Winter Stations looked like in Toronto (PHOTOS)

The Beaches have new art along its shores.

Winter Stations returns for its fifth-year, welcoming local and international designers to bring public art installations to Toronto’s coastline.

The new exhibits occupying Toronto’s waterfront landscape officially opened to the public on Family Day, and you’ll have a chance to see the six installations until April 1.

The annual design competition gives locals a reason to head to the beach even during the coldest months of the year. Now, six lifeguard stands have been transformed into colourful, temporary art installations based around the theme of migration.
