Messy commute expected but snowfall warnings "not anticipated": Environment Canada

A special weather statement remains in effect for Toronto, as snow continues to fall in the city.

According to Environment Canada’s weather statement, Thursday’s precipitation will include the possibility of mixed freezing drizzle, and light snow is possible tonight and into Friday morning.

It is forecasting snowfall accumulations in the 5 to 10 cm range.

And as the snow began falling overnight, the roads are already have some accumulation, meaning a messy commute to work.

“Given the timing of the snow, the this morning commute as well as the the afternoon or evening commute are likely to be impacted,” states the latest weather statement, although it also adds, “however, Snowfall warnings are not anticipated at this time.”

While it will reach a high of -2°C in Toronto today, wind chill will make it feel more like -12°C.

It will go down to -5°C this evening and the wind chill will make it feel more like -12°C again.

Colder evenings are expected, as it will dip to -13°C by Friday night… but at least the snow will have stopped by then.
