It's going to feel like 42°C for several days in Toronto this week

Prepare yourself for some extreme heat in Toronto because it is going to feel like 42°C for several days this week.

A Heat Warning issued by Environment Canada is also in effect during this prolonged period of hot weather.

According to The Weather Network, both Thursday, July 9 and Friday, July 10 are expected to feel like 42°C with humidex.

Thursday is forecasted at 36°C and Friday is forecasted one degree cooler at 35°C. Both days are also expected to be mainly sunny.

Leading up to Thursday, the rest of the week is also predicted to scorch heat over the city.

Tuesday will reach a high of 34°C but will feel like 38°C and Wednesday, July 8 will not be very different as it will feel like 40°C.

This weekend is expected to bring showers to Toronto but will also be warm with humidex being over 30°C.

Toronto has created a map of the city’s Emergency Cooling Centres for residents to cool down during the extreme heat.

The City’s outdoor swimming pools are also open along with several beaches with lifeguards.

Be sure to drink lots of water, as officials suggest, if you plan to spend time outside.

Never leave any people or pets inside a parked vehicle, and be sure to social distance, as usual.
