Toronto-to-Muskoka train coming later this year, ticket prices finally available
The Ontario Northlander train will soon reconnect Toronto and Muskoka after a 14-year hiatus, and the province has shared just what it’ll cost you to escape to cottage country by train when the service makes its return later this year.
The Ontario Northlander will operate on a 740-kilometre-long corridor between Toronto’s Union Station and Timmins (with a connection to Cochrane), with estimated end-to-end travel times coming in at under 11 hours.
Tickets will be sold on an age-based pricing model that will range between $94.20 and $188.40 for the full route, and prices ranging from $33.49 to $66.97 for the route’s shortest trip.

While this pricing model will cost about ten per cent more per ticket than the current bus service, the province expects the comparative speed and comfort to drive demand for this reborn train route.
