Please Note: As of January 14, a Stay at Home order is in effect for all of Ontario. This means you must stay at home and only go out for necessities including getting food, going to work, and getting exercise. Learn more about Ontario’s Stay at Home order here. If you go out, maintain the six-feet physical distancing guidelines and wear a mask.

City dwellers looking to get outside this winter needn’t look any further than the many kilometres of Toronto snow loops that you can walk, snowshoe, or cross-country ski.

As part of the City’s Welcome T.O. Winter parks plan, they are highlighting all of the outdoor exercise opportunities Torontonians have in their own backyard, which includes eight different snow loops throughout the city that total more than 16 km of trails.

The eight loops are located at five City-owned golf courses where trails, ranging from 1 km to 2.5 km in length, have been created for people to enjoy this winter.

“Torontonians made great use of the City’s parks and other recreation activities over the summer and we expect that interest to continue through the winter,” Mayor John Tory said in November, when the Welcome T.O. Winter parks plan was announced.

“While the public health advice has been clear – people need to stay home wherever possible – we do want to encourage people to safely get fresh air and exercise to maintain both their physical and mental health.”

All of the Toronto snow loops are accessible by the TTC, so here’s where to find them.
