Toronto Remembrance Day ceremonies to be held virtually this year

Remembrance Day is going to look a little different in Toronto this year.

As the result of the pandemic, all ceremonies that are taking place will be held online in order to avoid people gathering in large crowds.

The City has made this decision in accordance with the COVID-19 recommendations and guidelines made by Toronto Public Health.

This year, the Remembrance Day ceremonies held on November 11, by the City of Toronto, will be available through both the City’s website and its social media platforms.

Despite being online only, the City’s Remembrance Week; November 5 to 11, 2020, will commemorate those who paid the ultimate price in the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War, Peacekeeping missions all over the world, and in Afghanistan.

During Remembrance Week, the City will also be honouring veterans and those who have served and continue to serve our country as part of the Canadian Armed Forces.
