Toronto Raptors tickets are now much cheaper than they used to be

Back in 2019 (or early 2020), getting a Toronto Raptors ticket that didn’t resemble a mortgage payment or two might have seemed unfathomable.

With a sold-out Scotiabank Arena seemingly packed to the rafters every night, there were a good few years when the championship Raptors were the hottest seat in town.

That doesn’t quite appear to be the case anymore.

If you’re looking for an early present before the holidays kick into gear, taking a friend or a loved one to a Raptors game is just about the cheapest it’ll ever be.

For those interested in getting tickets for tonight’s game against the Chicago Bulls, tickets are going for under $35 a piece for the cheapest seat, as per Ticketmaster. At press time, two seats in the upper deck are going for $33.74 each, including all taxes and fees.

What’s behind the Raptors ticket decrease?

The biggest factor behind the cheaper-than-usual tickets is, for starters, the Raptors aren’t playing very well right now.

With a record of 7-19, it’s hardly been a season to remember in Toronto.

Scottie Barnes is currently on the mend with an ankle injury, while four of his other teammates, including Immanuel Quickley and Bruce Brown, are also listed as out for Monday.

Then there’s the added factor of Chicago being removed from their Michael Jordan/Scottie Pippen/Dennis Rodman heyday, with the Bulls being 11-15 and in ninth place in the Eastern Conference this season. As they typically visit twice a year, there’s little mystique in the matchup of the two Eastern teams.

But given that premium NBA tickets often go for several hundred dollars, it’s hard to argue that you’d be getting bad value for your money if you decided to pull it off.
