After shutting its doors due to the pressures of COVID-19, Toronto’s Prohibition Gastropub is reopening under a new name and ownership.
Now thoughtfully named, Prohibition Socialhouse, plans to reopen, bringing the same quality drinks they used to serve.
The new owners, Aidan Hospitality are also behind similar pubs such as Grace O’Malley’s and The Wallace Gastropub.
“Aidan Hospitality intends to keep the amazing community that was created around this neighbourhood gem alive under a similar brand,” said Afron Miftari, VP Operations at Aidan Hospitality in an email to Daily Hive.
“Neighbours and patrons can expect the same high-quality service, excellent draught beers, high-quality wine, spirit selections, and custom-crafted cocktails,” said Miftari.
The group has also managed to find some of the previous employees so they can get their jobs back, including its General Manager.
“We’ve done some renovations that we can’t wait for everyone to check out and will be opening shortly, adhering to all Covid-19 best practices,” said Miftari.
Their Prohibition Hour will also be making a comeback for their $5.75 premium rail, select wines, and beers.
The set opening date for the new gastropub is August 24.
