Toronto Police in search of woman who may have been shot downtown

Toronto police are looking for a woman who was allegedly shot in the downtown area in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

According to the Toronto Police Service, on August 19, at around 1:19 am officers responded to a radio call of gunshots in the Wellesley Street East and Jarvis Street area.

Several calls were made to TPS stating that gunshots have been heard in the area and a man was found with a gunshot wound.

Law enforcement believes, due to the information provided, a woman was also shot and they are now looking for her.

The woman is described as white, around 20 to 22 years old, 5’6”, with shoulder-length brown hair, and wearing a dark coloured short-sleeve shirt with black pants.

Police are concerned for her safety and are asking for the public’s help in locating her.
