Toronto movie theatre opens up a heated patio and wine shop

The Paradise Theatre, located in Bloordale Village, has reinvented itself amidst the coronavirus pandemic by opening a trendy heated patio, and wine shop.

After the province imposed a second shutdown last week that would affect indoor activities such as movie theatres and indoor dining, the Paradise Theatre has been investing in its, “side hustle.”

The theatre boasts an Italian tavern, called Osteria Rialto, which is open for covered and heated patio dining Wednesday through Sunday, and serves classic Italian cuisine.

They are also available for takeout.

Heated from the roof, to the floor. Benches are heated, our roof retracts and our windows open. We look forward to welcoming you!

The wine and bottle shop is open every day of the week from 3 to 9 pm, and is located in the box office of the movie theatre. You can order online and pick up your purchase, or you can shop in person if you choose.

The shop also sells other goodies like local cured meats, marinated olives, and other traditional Italian antipasti, as well as customary movie theatre treats such as candy and freshly popped popcorn.

While the theatre itself cannot screen movies in person just yet, the Paradise Theatre has debuted an online service where those interested can order and stream newly released movies off of the theatre’s website. Every “ticket” sold will provide two tickets to a first responder or frontline worker to enjoy a movie once the theatre reopens.

So, consider treating yourself to some paradise, and support your local community.

The Paradise on Bloor is located at 1006 Bloor St W.
