A 36-year-old woman from Toronto was arrested on Saturday, July 11, after an ongoing stabbing investigation.
According to Toronto police, officers attended a stabbing at Weston Road and Finch Avenue West area around 10 am on Saturday.
Officers allegedly located two children suffering from stab wounds. One was a six-month-old girl and the other a four-year-old boy.
Both children were taken to the hospital as their injuries appeared to be serious and life-threatening.
The 36-year-old woman has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of assault, Toronto police said.
Her identity will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victims involved.
Police also said on Twitter that they can confirm that the woman is the mother of the two children, who are now expected to recover.
