A McDonald’s restaurant in Toronto has temporarily closed after an employee has tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

According to McDonald’s Canada, an employee from the 630 Keele Street location has tested positive for the virus, and “out of an abundance of caution”, the fast-food joint made the decision to immediately close down the restaurant in order to conduct a thorough cleaning.

“We are working to ensure we reopen safely, as we know our guests depend on their local McDonald’s and we are committed to doing our part to help our communities,” read the statement.

According to the company, all crewmembers who may have been in contact with the employee have been asked to self-quarantine until further notice.

The employee had last worked on November 8 from 3 pm to 8 pm.

McDonald’s Canada asks any guests who may have visited the restaurant on November 8 to take directions from Ontario Public Health.
