This Toronto jeweller is transforming TTC tokens into necklaces

It’s been proven time and time again that Torontonians are a sentimental lot.

From old Metropasses being turned into mosaics to edible odes to the 504 streetcar, we wear our hearts on our sleeves. The same sleeves where all these creative ideas are hiding.

And now, the TTC token is being saluted in an equally tender fashion.

Samantha McAdams, a Toronto-based jeweller and designer, shared an image of the token-necklace that she created on Instagram.

“Showing the TTC some love as these iconic tokens are on their way out,” she wrote in her caption.

The comment section is filled with praise for the beautiful little pieces, and you can bet her DMs are about to be filled with requests from proud Torontonians wanting one of their own.

The necklaces are going for $175 and are available for purchase on Samantha’s website.

As for the cost of having a little wearable piece of history as tokens are officially phased out? Priceless.

See? Sentimental, creative, and really cool.
