With hot summer weather comes humidity and lots of it. Temperatures and humidex levels are expected to rise in Toronto, today and into the weekend.
According to The Weather Network, due to warmer air making its way into the city and across the region, temperatures are expected to range in the low to mid 30s.
With a high of 29°C, feeling closer to 35°C with the humidex on Friday, if you’re out and about in Toronto, you might want to stay hydrated.
Saturday and Sunday, temperatures are expected to rise to its peak, remaining around 29°C to 30°C, respectively, feeling more like 36°C with the humidity.
“The hot, muggy conditions will continue through the weekend and into next week with temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s, in some locales, with humidex values hitting the upper 30s,” said The Weather Network.
“The humid weather will bring an increasing threat for scattered thunderstorms this weekend, but it will be mostly rain-free,” said the Weather Network. “Saturday’s scattered risk comes courtesy of daytime heating, ahead of a second front that will be trekking across northeastern areas. There could be passing showers and storms in the afternoon in central Ontario, extending south into parts of the GTA.”
According to Environment Canada, there’s a 40% chance of showers with a risk of thunderstorms on Friday and a possibility for storms on Saturday.
Temperatures into next week are expected to drop slightly as Monday and Tuesday will feel around 35°C with the humidex and gradually decline into Friday.
