Whether you’ve seen it at your yoga studio or at your spiritual friend’s house, Himalayan salt is everywhere.

Known for its beneficial healing powers, Himalayan salt can help improve air quality and even help with respiratory conditions like asthma.

And it turns out, Oakville is actually home to a replicated authentic salt cave, so you can reap all the benefits of a traditional cave experience, without having to leave the country.

Approximately 40 km from downtown Toronto, you’ll discover Solana Salt Cave, a wellness centre that offers a number of therapeutic activities including yoga, pilates, meditation, and Thai massage.

Each activity can be completed within the cave, which resembles the microclimate of a natural salt cave, where visitors can cleanse their body of unwanted toxins.

However, if you’re really looking to zen out, there are lounge chairs available in the cave and calming music, creating the ultimate atmosphere to unwind.

A regular cave session starts at $35, while yoga in the cave goes for $40 a pop.

So this winter, the next time you’re looking for an escape from the city, you’re going to want to head to the Solana Salt Cave.
