Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Toronto on Monday as temperatures are forecast to rise until late Tuesday evening.

Although temperatures are expected to range between 30°C to 32°C throughout the day, it’ll feel near 41°C due to the humidex, according to the weather agency.

Into the night, temperatures will drop to around 20°C to 23°C before skyrocketing again to the mid 30’s.

“Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index to approach the high risk category,” read the statement.

But it won’t be until late Tuesday evening where a cooler and less humid air mass is expected to set the tone for Toronto, easing the hot temperatures, according to Environment Canada.

For the rest of the week, temperatures are expected to remain around the 30°C mark with the humidity in Toronto.

Everyone is asked to take extra precautions for the heat when heading outdoors, and keeping hydrated.

The weather statement also reminds residents to never leave people or pets in parked vehicles.
