Three Toronto area McDonald’s have confirmed multiple staff members testing positive for COVID-19 since Friday, as more cases continue to be reported.

McDonald’s Canada has shared its COVID-19 advisory page with updates up until January 10.

On January 8, an employee at the 4808 Sheppard Road McDonald’s location reported testing positive for COVID-19. They had last worked on January 5.

Two days later, on January 10, an employee at 1070 Major Mackenzie Drive East in Richmond Hill reported testing positive for COVID-19. They had last worked on January 8.

The same day, a separate location at 30 Coventry Road in Brampton reported two employees testing positive for the virus and last worked on January 5 and January 7, respectively.

Anyone who visited an affected McDonald’s is asked to take directions from Ontario Public Health.

McDonald’s Canada says their restaurants have implemented a number of enhanced safety measures, including having hand sanitizer dispensers available, keeping high-touch surfaces and tables sanitized, and making masks mandatory for all staff.

“Maintaining the health and well-being of our crew and guests is our top priority, and we will continue to monitor and adapt measures, where necessary,” said McDonald’s Canada.

“We continue to work with local health authorities to support our people and our guests, and look forward to getting back to serving our community.”
